Death of DONELLEY |
The celebrated Irish pugilist, Daniel DONELLEY, died at his porter house, in Greek-street, Dublin, on Friday noon, in consequence of the bursting of a blood-vessel. An armed partty attacked the house of a man named LEE, at Glanstada, County Clare, last week, with a view of taking away his daughter. They succeeded in getting possession of their dear object, when LEE's two sons, in the most heroic
manner, rushed on the party and rescued their sister. One of the party was severely injured from the blow from a scythe, his name is DONNELEN, and has not been since heard of.

A Case of great distress:The two orphan daughters of the late John DONNELLAN, Bookbinder, for the last 30 yearsa hard working and well conducted Tradesman in this Cityare now in a state of absolute want, to which they have been
reduced by the ill health, and consequent decline of business their father had to endure for some considerable time before his death. They are without and relative here, and as their object is to proceed for Dublin where they have some friends likely
to protect them, they humbly appeal to a generous and feeling public for the smallest donation to enable them to rescue themselves from their present affliction. As a small sum would enable these poor females to reach Dublin we make the appeal on
their behalf. Any donation will be received for them at this and other Newspaper Offices, by the several Booksellers and Stationers, and gratefully acknowledged in the Public Journals, by these poor children of an old citizen driven by misery and want
from the place of their nativity.

Death of Centenarians. Our obituary this week records the death of James DOYLE of South Hylton, near Sunderland, on the 24th instant, at the extraordinary age of one hundred and seven years. Deceased was a native of Ireland, and papermaker by trade.
Sunderland Herald. The oldest man in Newport, Richard ROURKE, aged one hundred and three years, died here on Monday, having all his senses and the use of his limbs preserved to the last. The deceased was engaged in the great Irish
rebellion, and it was to this town he escaped in a coaling vessel from bing arrested on that memorable occasion. During the few past months a few kind-hearted gentlemen subscribed towards his maintenance, but he was always dutifully cared for by "his
boy", as the old man used to term his son, who is rather an aged man, working as ajourneyman printer. Bristol Mercury.

Cork Assizes DREW v BARRETTs This was an action for damages, brought by the plaintiff, who is a Physician in the town of Mallow, against the defendants, who are Apothecaries of the same place, in consequence of interfering with his practice
using insulting language, and provoking the plaintiff to fight a duel, by thrusting the butt end of a pistol at his face. One of the defendants, it appeared, had prescribed some medicines for a Lady in that neighbourhood, whom the plaintiff considered
one of his patients, which induced him to remonstrate with defendants but this remonstration was received in a manner as laid the foundation for the present action. After going into a variety of evidence on both sides, to prove and defend the
allegations, and after a clear and appropriate charge of the Judge, the Jury retired, and brought in a verdict against the defendants of £425 dmages, with costs

Death of physicians in consequence of fever contracted in the discharge of their duties in public institutions. We feel great regret in announcing the death of Dr DREW at the premature age of 21 yrs. The early indication he had given of professional
skill joined to his studious habits, bade fair to render him a valuableacquisition to his profession. ... Dr DREW's death was occasioned by a violent fever, which he had taken in the first visit he made in his capacity of physician to the despensary,
which we noticed his appointment a fortnight since his death therefore has left a vacancy in the medical department of that valuabl institution Cork Advertiser
