I've Been Busy

So much stuff done of late. Had my brother staying with me for a couple of weeks. In amongst all of that, we managed to get to MovieWorld. For him, he'd never been, for me, I wanted the Superman Escapes Rollercoaster! So that was the second ride we lined up for (Aaron, Heidi, Stephie, John and Cherie also joined us, though John doesn't do rides), after they seemingly spent ages doing test runs. First real run of the day, and apparently the cars shot out, went up to the first peak, then rolled back down (so John told us). So the ride got closed for a while as they tried to work out what went wrong.

We went off and did other stuff, then came back and lined up a second time. There were more people there this time, so we were standing in line for a while this time. We were about half way there, when, it broke it again. It's not like this is a just opened ride. It opened for Christmas. It should be working reliably by now. Anyway, we made one more attempt to ride this ride, late in the day, minus Peter and Stephie (they didn't want to be on it when it broke next). We lined up, holding our breath. We got to the front of the line, no break downs, all good so far. By absolutely fantastic luck, we were going to be at the front of the roller coaster. We got on the roller coaster, we rode through the boring story part of it, and we were in place, ready for Superman to give us a push start for the good stuff and get us up to 100k in 2 seconds. Let me just say, the rest of the ride was really cool (you didn't think it was going to break down with us on it did you?). You get to the top of the first peak, and it's virtually straight down, and there's not really anything in front of you when you're in the front 2 seats.

On to a different topic now, my birthday. A very important day that should be marked on calendars across the globe. So I got a crowd together for dinner, and I think they had a good time. Heidi made an outstanding piece of edible art (read cake), themed entirely to me. Anyhow, check out the pictures to the right (presuming I've managed to steal some).

So till next time, see you in the funny pages.

Inside this cake is a living, bubbling lump of hate. Fortunately it is a tasty lump. A word to the wise, never try to out do Heidi in cake decorating.

And here's where it came out.

And now onto the photos of peopel who were there (there would be one of Shane and Lee as well, but that was out of focus). Starting with Adam and Em, who eventually rsvp'd, once they realised the other one hadn't.

The 3 software engineering guys I know. Note, Cam is now a skin head.

Damo managed to make it too.

And here's a picture of the usual crowd.
