The week That Was
Wow, the Lions suck. I'm glad I don't follow AFL. The Cowboys don't suck, and the Broncos haven't played yet this week.
And now to something kind of on topic. Well what a fun week it has been. The auctions on my brothers comics ended, selling for a total just over $320, which I think is pretty damn good. But that's just me. The last of them are sitting on my couch at the moment, waiting for me to put them in the mailbox, which I'm getting around to.
Also, this week I started to play touch. I nominated as an individual and got put into a team. We played our first game on Monday, and well, we weren't great, but we weren't terrible. Still, not quite good enough to win, we lost 5-7. On a plus side, I scored first for my team (not first in the game, the other team did that). It's a mixed team, on Monday we only had 3 girls there (which is the minimum to be on the field, so they didn't get to sub). I believe there is meant to be a fourth, she just didn't show. The end result of all of this is, it is really hard to run around for 40 minutes.
And my final news for the week is, I bought myself a shiny new monitor (seeing sa how my old decided to lose red). It's a 17" LCD, and makes my desk look really spacious and large. Which I'm sure some of you who have helped me carry it would attest to. At the same time, I bought myself a new video card. The reason for that was so that I could finally finish playing Freedom Force vs The Third Reich. Which I did today. So left open for a third.
Oh, and it would appear that Scott was right on this one. V for Vandetta is really quite good. I'm not so sure how much the Yanks would like it. Natalie Portman's performance was almost good enough to atone for Star Wars. And screw the message, just enjoy it as a movie. Oh, and that's not to say I was wrong, I'm merely agreeing with Scott.
And now I'm off to cook a kangaroo, or at least a small part of it.
