BACKGROUND ON THE WORLD

Beltane

October 30 in Australia signals the start of the harvest when farmers strip off their singlets and shorts to dance naked round the Beltane fires in their bundies. A time of witches, warlocks, tractors and combine harvesters.

Stone Circle

The stone circle is loosely based on the overall dimensions of StoneHenge, but owes more to Allan Garner's 'Borrobil', and Andre Norton's 'WitchWorld' than to reality.
