As many of you may know, the Computer Power Institute of
Technology has been placed into administration in January
2006 and is in the process of being liquidated. So please
don't bother trying to phone or email using the links provided
- no-one is there!
I'm leaving these pages up though, as a tribute to the wonderful
guys and girls I worked with over the 8 years I spent at Computer
Power.
Thanks everyone, we did our best and had some fun along
the way.
That's it from Greg - turning off the lights and locking
up for the last time ...
Hi all,
My name is Greg Letts (for those of you who have landed directly
on this page), and I work at the Computer Power Institute of
Technology, which is located at 5 Mill Street, Perth, Western
Australia. If you are interested in getting into the IT industry,
and are looking for computer training courses or certification courses
(such as Microsoft, CompTIA or CCNA) to get your foot in the door,
you should come to see us and see what we have to offer to help
you take that first step (I've got contact details at the bottom
of this page).
My workplace is the WA office of the national company - we have
other offices in all the capital cities around Australia. Feel free
to check out our company
website here - but before you read all that official stuff,
I've got a bit to say about the company first!
What's so good about Computer Power?
Well, I work there, so it must be good! What - you want more reasons
than that? Hmmm ... let me think for a second. OK - I've got it
now.
Me, hard at work - at least the book's not upside down!
The people I work with
The guys and girls I work with in Perth are a great team - we've
been together for quite a few years now and have a good time at
work with each other. Between us, we have many years of experience
in the IT industry. Most of us have been students at Computer Power
as well, so we have been in the same position you are at one point
- it's good for our students to have staff that know what they are
going through.
It's very rewarding working with students and helping them to achieve
their goals in the IT industry <yawn - end of politically correct
speech>. Seriously though, I've been Instructing for over 7 years
and I still get a kick out of our graduation ceremonies and hearing
about what jobs our students are getting. And because our longest
course is just over a year, our students are out working quickly
so there's a constant stream of new people to get to know!
Our Job Placement Program
Our students are people that are just like you, either looking
to get out of dead-end or boring jobs and into the IT industry,
or leaving school or university and trying to get that first job
in IT. Regardless of their background, they've all got that same
goal - getting started with their IT career. Our company has been
getting people started in IT for over 30 years - so we know what
we are doing. We have placed over 90% of our graduates year in and
year out over that time - click here
to check out our FAQs about job placement. I thought our job
placement was great when I was a student and it got me my first
IT job - and I still think so today!
Flexibility
Want to get started straight away? Need to study at nights while
you keep working? Or are you doing shift work and need a flexible
schedule? Or maybe you need Austudy to help pay the bills? Or perhaps
you have some other special requirement?
No matter what your specific situation, chances are we can find
a way to help you. I believe we are the leaders when it comes to
getting the best solution for our students - and here's an Evaluation
Checklist to use when comparing Computer Power against our competition
- see if they can match what we have to offer!
The Courses we offer
Whether it's computer programming, networking, eCommerce, or vendor
certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA or CCNA, we have it on
offer. We've been providing quality computer courses for longer
than just about anybody else - so we can find the right course for
you. Click
here to go to the course lists on our official website.
NEW!! - .NET Certification courses
are now available!
Keira Macfarlane - Careers Consultant
and Instructor for Perth
Gee, it all reads a bit like an advertisement, doesn't it? Look,
all I'm trying to say is that I like where I work, the people that
I work with, and the students that I'm helping to get their first
IT job. I'm part of a team that have been getting people started
in IT for a long time, and we're pretty darn good at it. So if you
are looking to get into IT, make sure you come along and have a
chat with our Careers Consultants and see what we can do for you!
For those unfortunate people who don't live in Western Australia
- you can also book
in for a free seminar via our official company website or by
