These are the people I work with, day in and day out. They will
also be the people that you will be seeing on a daily basis if you
are one of our students. So why not find out a little about us first?

Greg's Description
Dean's my boss, so I had better say nice things about him! In actual
fact, Dean is a good bloke and is very approachable - so don't be
afraid to say hi to him if you see him wandering around the Institute!
Or down in front of the building having a quick nicotine fix ...
Who is this guy?
Greg Letts - Team Leader/Instructor
Official Description
As an instructor my role is to assist you with your learning needs.
I am here to help so feel free to see with when you need assistance.
Greg's Description
Well - whatta guy! What more can I say! Actually, quite a bit,
but I won't. I've been working in IT for the last 10 years, and
at the Institute as an Instructor for the last 7 or so. You'll see
me around quite a bit as one of the Instructors on shift, where
I handle programming, A+, Network+, and various other modules.
Keira Macfarlane - Careers Consultant/Instructor
Don't believe a word Greg says!
Official Description
I've been working for Computer Power for 8 years after graduating
from our Diploma of Business Programming in 1997.
Acting as a Careers Consultant I serve as the first point of contact
to people enquiring about our courses. I then help them choose the
most appropriate training to suit their career aspirations.
You'll also see me out on the Institute floor as an Instructor
assisting with the day-to-day delivery of your courseware. I'm here
to offer you educational and moral support throughout your course.
Please feel free to ask me anything and I will do my best to find
an answer for you.
Greg's Description
I've worked with Keira for most of the time I've been at Computer
Power - during that time Keira has become one of the best Instructors
around and is now using her knowledge of our courses to become a
great Careers Consultant as well. We've had a lot of fun both at
our old Fremantle campus and now up in Perth where we are looking
after the Perth students these days. She's a keen surfer and top
female triathlete as well - who keeps trying to get the rest of
the staff doing triathlons too - not a chance Keira!
Malcolm Brand - Instructor and Programming Guru
Psst! Wanna buy a book?
Official Description
Hi, as one of the instructors here at Computer Power my job is
to help you pass your exams and graduate from your selected course.
My background is in computer programming and I originally graduated
at Computer Power with a Diploma of Business Programming. My hobbies
are programming in .NET and 3D games programming.
As an instructor I am your first port of call for any problems
or questions you may have regarding your modules or your course.
My specialty is the programming modules and I will soon be running
the Developing Web Applications in C#.NET 5 day workshop for the
70-315 Microsoft Certification.
Feel free to contact me about any queries you may have about course
related or industry related programming.
Greg's Description
Mal was actually a student of Keira and myself back in the old
days. He was a great student, very friendly and upbeat, and then
went out to program in industry. When we had the chance to put on
a new instructor Mal immediately came to mind. Fortunately he agreed
to come on board and he's been a smiling face around the place for
the last 3 years or so, and his enthusiasm for all things programming
is legendary!
Michelle Legg - Education Administrator
The only time you'll see her desk that
tidy!
Official Description
My role as Education Administrator is very broad. If you are not
sure who to see, I'm the person to speak to.
If you want to do any of the following please come and see me at
the Resource Centre:
To do a mini or exam
Make your monthly payment
Request time off
Discuss your variance
Book a certification exam
Borrow books from the library
Pick up your next module after doing an exam
If the hatch is closed, please put a request in via Smart to see
the instructor on duty and they will help you.
Greg's Description
Michelle was actually one of my instructors back when I did the
course in 1994. She's still around today, doing the occasional bit
of instructing but mainly running the administration side of things
fantastically well, keeping both students and staff in line. Start
turning up late on a regular basis and you'll see exactly what I
mean! Seriously though, she looks after our students as part of
her extended family - which means worrying about them and keeping
an eye on them when necessary.
Dave Cutler - Instructor
So good he has a keyboard for each hand!
Official Description
I am the newest and youngest member of Computer Power. My current
certifications are A+, Network+, MCP and MCSA. In the near future
I will also be taking on CCNA and MCT certifications. After leaving
high school after completing year 12 I worked many different jobs
ranging from a Nightclub manager to a Pool Lifeguard to eventually
finding myself attending Computer Power as a DNE student. I am now
in a fantastic role doing something that I enjoy.
Greg's Description
Dave's relatively new to the organisation, but is already proving
to be a good fit as our DNE instructor. I haven't got any dirt on
him yet, but I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open!
Elizabeth Lovell - Careers Consultant
What's for lunch?
Official Description
As Careers Consultant my role is to assist potential students with
their study choices and career direction. I have had many years
experience in the Training sector.
I also look after corporate training.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries about anything
to do with your course and training choices.
Greg's Description
Lizzie mothers everyone around the place, be they staff or students.
You'll see her around the place keeping an eye on everything and
everybody. Is a great cook - her lunches for the staff are not to
be missed - which reminds me, isn't it about time for another lunch
Liz?
Simon Taylor - Placement Consultant
Attack of the killer plants!
Official Description
As the placement consultant my role is to assist graduates into
employment. My background is in education, training and employment.
Please feel free to contact me at any stage of your course if you
require any assistance with your employment needs.
I conduct the Employment Preparation workshops and will soon be

Greg's Description
Simon has been with us a while now, and is proving to be an excellent
placement consultant. He also has a very dry sense of humour and
an excellent poker face, as shown in his first ever Graduation Speech
- which had the staff in stitches! Can often be found out in the
ocean searching for the perfect wave when he's not in the office.
