Plug-ins used: Redfield’s Lattice Composer. http://www.redfieldplugins.com/filterLatticeComposer.htm

Open a new canvas and size to suit. File/New

Insert Shape/Square - remove the line and size to fit your canvas.

Fill with colour of choice by either using the Paint Bucket or Effects/Fill with Colour or Texture/More Solid Colour Choices.

Duplicate this layer: Ctrl + d

To make it easier to see what you are doing, change the top layer to white. Keep the top layer selected and use the Paint Bucket on the Toolbar to select white.

Resize the top layer so you can see a small band of the original colour at top and bottom:

Hold down the Ctrl key and use the resizing square at top centre to make your top layer narrower.

Now fill the top layer with a contrasting colour: Effects/Fill with Colour or Texture/More Solid Colour Choices. Using the eyedropper, click on the outer colour and then use the colour wheel to adjust accordingly.

Add Texture/Pattern

Keeping the top layer selected, go to Effects/Filters/All Filters. I chose Pencil Scribble and changed the brush to Pencil 4C in this example. Click Done and Done to return to the workspace.

Flatten both layers: Edit/Flatten All Objects.

Apply filters: Go to Effects/Plug-in Filters and navigate to Redfield’s Lattice Composer. Select the Jalousie filter with the following settings:

Apply the filter and return to the workspace.

Add shadow: Go to Effects/Plug-in Filters and navigate to Gregs Factory Output II and select the Pool Shadow filter. Play with the slider until you get the look you want. I used the following settings:

To make your ribbon look less flat:

Go to Effects/Distortion Brush. Select Shrink and move the Brush Size slider to 400.

Click once in each of the lighter sections of your ribbon.

Save as png. Done!
