How To Use Uninstalled Fonts
Ó kimlizzy2005
Having too many fonts installed in the Windows Fonts folder can significantly slow your computer.
No problem! There is an easy way around this.
Create a new folder in My Documents and name it "Uninstalled Fonts".
After downloading fonts from the net unzip them into the new folder.
Because the fonts aren’t in the Windows Fonts folder it means that although they are "on" your computer, they aren’t actually "installed".
**IMPORTANT: DO NOT open your graphics program yet or this method won’t work**
From the "Uninstalled Fonts" folder, double click on the font you want to use.
A preview window will open up.
MINIMISE this window.
NOW open your graphics program.
Add your text.
Each program works a little differently but the general instructions should work.
Format your text. You should see the font you have minimised listed in the drop-down box.
While ever you have the font preview window minimised you will be able to use that font.
You can open more than one font preview at a time. Just minimise them all BEFORE you open your graphics program.
