Making Overlay Templates in DIP (All)
Ó 2005 kimlizzy
Overlays are very quick and simple to make.
Open a new canvas and size to suit.
Insert/Shape/Square
Format/Resize Object to Fit Canvas/Stretch to Fit
Click on the Line Thickness button
and select
the desired thickness.

Click on the Paint Bucket and select No Fill

Add a new shape and select the same line thickness and No Fill.

Move into position. Zoom in to see that the shapes are lined up correctly.

Continue adding shapes or lines in the same manner until you are happy with the look. Don’t forget "NO FILL".
(It doesn’t matter if there are lines outside the canvas. When you save your overlay those lines won’t show up.)

Save your template as PNG.
I don’t add a bevel at this stage. Wait til you have made a layout with your template at which stage you can change the colour and add your bevel. I used Eyecandy 4000 for bevelling. www.alienskin.com
