Open a new canvas and resize to 96 x 96 pixels
Insert Shape>square>no line and resize to fit canvas
Change colour to medium/dark grey.
Now you can do lots of things to make your brush.
1. Eye Candy Weave
2. Paint Freehand with a lighter grey
3. Add shapes and colour lighter grey. In attached sample I used the heart shape.
When done, save as png in the textures folder of DIP. (See below for correct location to save to.)

Insert shape>no line>resize to fit canvas
Effects>Paintbrush>Freehand
Select colour and brush size.
Customise paint settings. I chose square.
Click a paint texture and choose the new brush you made.
Now paint over the whole canvas.
Now add filters/plug-ins if required.
