Wax Seals in DIP 10
Ó 2005 kimlizzy
There are several ways to make wax seals. This tutorial covers two. This should give you the basic idea but with experimentation you are bound to come up with other methods/looks.
Method 1:
Open a new canvas and size accordingly. I used 2x2". You can always reduce the size later.
Insert a circle, remove the line and fill with colour of choice.
Resize it so it has some space around the outside.

Duplicate the circle: Ctrl+d
Reduce the size of the top circle a little.
Click on the bottom circle to make it active and go to Effects/Distort

Select Wave 2 and move the slider to 9

Keeping the bottom layer selected go to Effects/Plug-ins and select Eyecandy 4000/Bevel Boss.

Click on Launch plug-in filter……
From the Settings Tab choose Inner Bevel

From the Bevel Profile tab choose Hump

From the Basic tab choose a bevel width and height.

When you are happy with the look click Okay then Done to return to the workspace.
Click on the top circle to make it the active layer and return to Eyecandy/Bevel Boss and apply "last used".

Add your text: Text/Insert shaped text. I chose a dingbat.

Change the text to match your wax: Effects/fill with colour or texture/more solid colour choices. Use the eyedropper to match your colour.

Keeping the text/dingbat selected go to: Effects/Plug-ins/Eyecandy 4000/Bevel Boss and select Inner Bevel from Settings and Cut Around from Bevel Profile
Adjust the width and height from the Basic tab.

METHOD 2:
Open a new canvas and add one coloured circle.
Distort as in Method 1.
Select the marquee tool
Select the circle shape/Anti-aliased and Shape proportions both checked.

Draw out your circle. Click on Adjust marquee to move/resize it to suit.
Select the Object tool
Now right click on your circle and "Cut"

Then right click again and "Paste".

Select the bottom layer (the outer ring) and go to: Effects/Plug-in filters/Eyecandy 4000/Bevel Boss.
Select Inner Bevel with a Button profile.

Select the top layer and add Eyecandy 4000/Bevel Boss. This time you select the Hump profile.
Duplicate the top layer: Ctrl+d and make the new layer smaller.
Drag the bottom layer (the outer ring) onto the top.
Select the middle layer and drag it out a little so the edge just disappears underneath the outer ring.

Select the middle layer and adjust the size to suit.

Add text/dingbat as before.

Add filters to give a more imperfect look to the wax
