Romance Writers of America are hosting their national conference
in Washington DC this month! I so wish I were going. I can only
imagine the electric atmosphere...rubbing elbows with authors
whose work I adore, meeting my fabulous editors and equally fabulous
agent. Perhaps meeting a few people who have enjoyed my books...
Wow!
Unfortunately my priorities say, "Not this year." I have a Desire
due mid-August - part of the Australian Outback Baby series, which
will also feature fellow Desire authors, Maxine Sullivan and
Paula Roe. I also need to devote some time (and effort) into getting
fit again. The kilos have crept on...and on...these last 12 months.
(Too much junk food, not near enough exercise!) So it's 5 days a
week at the gym for me! And there's another
important factor in my life I've neglected of late...
Reading.
I don't plan to make myself a schedule - (You must read X amount
of books in X amount of time, of mixed genre and make notes about
pace, voice and conflict while you're at it!) I am simply going to take
time out before sleep every night to enjoy whatever story I'm loving
at the moment. Starting tonight!
The Lost Key to Salem by Katherine Howe is one of the books on
my bedside table. What are you reading? What's on your wish list?
