BOUND TO THE VIRGIN

THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR CATHOLIC FAITH

A book about Catholic Philosophy, the result of 10 lectures the author gave in Sydney after the modernists hijacked The Aquinas Academy: the life’s work of that redoubtable Priest the late Dr. Austin Woodbury, SM. THE CATHOLIC MASS

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is a repetition, or re-enactment, of what Christ Our Lord did at the Last Supper and what He subsequently did on Calvary. At the Last Supper Christ in an advanced, but not yet in a real way, separated for us His Body and His Blood. On Calvary the next day this separation did become the reality He foresaw and needed, in order that the repetition in time of these two great events could become “for us and for our salvation” the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This was done so that the Holy People in the Cenacle and on Calvary would not have a great advantage over us. If they were present at Christ’s immolation of Himself, so can we be in the re-enactment of it. If they were able to offer themselves up with Him, so has it now been made possible for us to do the same.

THE ‘THEOLOGY’ OF TEILHARD DE CHARDIN

The enthusiasm for Pere Teilhard de Chardin began in earnest shortly after 1920 when his first confidential essay against the Dogma of Original Sin landed by mistake in Rome where it caused a storm of indignation. All his subsequent articles have been clandestinely circulated and his books have been printed since his sudden death in 1955 by non-catholic and even anti-catholic publishers. It is from these sources that the ‘theology’ of Teilhard de Chardin has been distilled, and is being analysed here for a wider reading public.

TEILHARD DE CHARDIN AND THE DUTCH CATECHISM

All theology, even theology so-called, is rooted in a philosophy from which it derives its form. In the study presented here, the philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin is being examined in the light of the theology that sprang from it as they both lie expressed in the Dutch Catechism.
