ONE EXAMPLE OF ‘DARKENING’ OF THE HUMAN MIND TAKEN FROM MODERN HISTORY

When in the course of the unleashing of RENEW in Tasmania, the programme was being introduced into San Carlo, the Cathedral parish of Hobart, the RENEW director of Tasmania Dean Adrian Doyle made the following startling admission. Reading from the overhead projector, this doctor of Canon Law had the gall to declare in public:-

“RENEW does not attempt to go into divine truths”.
“It is not about providing answers for the big moral issues”.

During question time the Dean was accused of deception, presenting as Catholic a programme that on his own admission was totally devoid of any Catholic content. Sensing the Dean’s acute dilemma, a man sprang to his defence saying:

“If RENEW is only about Gospel discussions, and if every effort is being made to keep Catholic teaching and Church doctrine far removed from it, then that is all I want from RENEW and I am all for it”.

He received a stunning applause for his helpful contribution to the night’s utter confusion in the Cathedral parish of Hobart. This loud approval was of course directed to the priests present, Fr. Wallis, Fr. Rush (PP) and Dean Doyle, none of whom, out of gratitude for the life saver, made any attempt to correct the man.

After the bankruptcy of the discredited programme had been pointed out by the previous questioner, and how deceitful it was to present it as ‘Catholic’ without any divine truths in it, this man had understood the acute embarrassment of the RENEW director and expressed in his own word what the Dean had already publicly displayed and said earlier: no divine truths; no moral answers.

And suddenly those present woke up to what was going on and they too saw the significance of the moment. They knew that a programme from which

would be kept far removed, that such a RENEW

And their stunning ovation directed to those three priests present literally meant: “Leave the programme as it is, Fathers. We like it the way you present it. DON’T PUT ANYTHING CATHOLIC IN IT! We feel comfortable with ‘false prophets’ who leave us in our sins...”.

This deception goes to the heart of RENEW and to the heart of all kindred weeds that have sprung up all over the place ‘for the ruin of souls’. The strategy employed in all those programmes is well-tried. It is an open secret that broad strata of the Catholic population, finding themselves in group discussions far removed from any Catholic input but over-exposed to the high-tech of group dynamics, will end up so weakened in their Catholic Faith that they will accept any input desired by the organisers: ‘married clergy’, ‘women priests’, ‘total freedom of conscience’, ‘autonomy of the local church’ in matters of Faith, morals and organisation, ‘amalgamation with the Anglicans’, ‘admission of anyone to the Sacraments’, etc. etc.

If this brings us to the heart of each and every one of those so-called ‘renewal’ programmes, then it also brings us to the heart of Our Lord’s teaching on damnation contained in the Gospel of the Monday in the First Week of Lent:-

“Depart from Me with your curse upon you into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.

If this is a clear reference to the eternal punishment even for the careless neglect of the corporal works of mercy, how ever so more important must be in the Divine Mind the reference to the eternal damnation of the wilful neglect of the spiritual works of mercy by programmes which boastfully nail to their masthead:

“No divine truths! No answers to moral problems! No Catholic teaching. No Church doctrines. We will not allow Papal and Marian Catholics to pester you with any of these in our deep-sharing ‘gospel’ discussions”….

And at the end of these introductory sessions the Holy Spirit is earnestly invoked to assist in the unobtrusive transfer of these deceits to and their whole-hearted acceptance by the holy people of God ....

No doubt it must come as a great surprise to good Catholics inside and outside Tasmania alike that this same Dean Adrian Doyle has been appointed to be the next Archbishop of Hobart. Obviously, something of vital importance has been withheld from the Holy Father.

And to make matters worse – if that is at all possible – both Archbishop Eric d’Arcy - on whose orders Dean Doyle introduced RENEW into the Tasmanian Church province by such stealth - and Mgr. Philip Green have seen fit to portray in the December issue of the Tasmanian Church’s “Standard” that Dean Doyle’s nomination to the See of Hobart must be seen in the ‘light’ of RENEW as part of the recognition of his fearless efforts in introducing it, and that the new Archbishop will invigorate the programme after his consecration on February 6th, 1998.

Here we have a true example of human minds interfering with the Catholic Faith of thousands of Catholics of all ages and in all walks of life. The result, as laid down by Divine Veracity, Scriptural inerrancy and St. Paul’s revelations, is utter chaos.
