Lisa Sharp

Lisa Sharp is a graduate of the Recfishwest Young Future Leader's course who has made remarkable progress in recreational fisheries management and would like to contribute to the Board of Recfishwest.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Education and is a columnist and TV presenter for Fishing WA. She is also a member of the WA Recreational Fishing Advisory Committee (RFAC) and also a member of the National RFAC established in Canberra.

Lisa has been an instructor at the Recfishwest fishing clinics since April 2008 and organised the Pink Fly Fishing Clinic for women recovering from breast cancer in December 2008.

As a young woman with a strong background in education and recreational fishing, Lisa is confident that she can make a valuable contribution to the Recfishwest Board. Lisa is actively involved in many areas of the fishing industry, including policy development at the national level. Her current work as a TV presenter for the Fishing WA show provides the opportunity to meet anglers throughout the state, be a positive role model and influence the wider community.

Lisa brings enthusiasm and passion for the future of fishing. She has an understanding of the need for proactive management and to communicate well with the wider community to ensure that they understand, and can support reforms which meet the challenges facing sustainable recreational fisheries management.

Lisa was elected to the Recfishwest Board at the Annual General Meeting in October 2009 for a 2 year term.
