Recfishwest conducts free fishing clinics for children in the Perth metropolitan area and Western Australian regional areas.
Recfishwest was successful in 2007 in gaining funding from the Australian Government's Recreational Fishing Community Grants Programme for an "Addicted to Fishing not Drugs" initiative.
This additional assistance complemented the already successful SunSmart fishing clinics, sponsored by Healthway for the promotion of the Cancer Council WA SunSmart message and other initiatives which have also been supported by the State government.
