Result of Special General Meeting:- The proposed Constitution changes were approved by Recfishwest members.

The following information has been posted to Recfishwest members commencing 6 August.

The Board of Management has recommended significant amendments to the Recfishwest Constitution to allow for a regional based consultation structure among other things.

In accordance with the Constitution (clause 22.2) the Board resolved to hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) for the purpose of considering these amendments.

The SGM will be held in the meeting Room, Watermans Bay Marine Centre, West Coast Drive (opposite Elvire Street), Waterman.



As per the Constitution, a quorum for the SGM shall be 10 Members entitled to vote (clause 22.4) and Constitutional amendment motions shall be passed by at least three-fourths majority of votes cast by members present or their proxies (clause 31.1).

The changes to the Constitution include:

• Modifying the objects to reflect the current and future challenges facing Recfishwest.

• Clarifying membership criteria for Associations.

• Simplifying the disciplinary provisions while still allowing for natural justice.

• Changing the Board composition by reducing the Public and Association members by one each.

• Adding 4 regional representatives to the Board being one each from Pilbara/Kimberley, Gascoyne, West Coast and South Coast.

• Including non-financial interests in the disclosure of interest provisions.

• Appointing Association members to a two year term voted on by all members of Recfishwest.

• Allowing for electronic attendance at Board Meetings.
