Thank you for the opportunity to submit a response to the above draft Plan beyond the formal closing date.

Recfishwest recognises that the bulk of the Plan directions and recommendations are not marine oriented and therefore of little direct concern for our organisation.

However, we would like to express a potential concern regarding the proposals for areas No's 39, 40 and 41 in the Henderson Reserve area, all of which fall onto Cockburn Sound.

From the draft Plan we note that whilst areas 40 and 41 are planned for 'recreational purposes' the activity of fishing is not listed anywhere in the Plan as one of the activities to be allowed or encouraged. We believe that this is probably an oversight. However if there is any intention to prohibit or limit fishing we would strongly object on the grounds that fishers have already lost access to large tracts of Cockburn Sound foreshore.

Similarly, area 39 is proposed for conservation but the Plan does not specifically indicate that fishing is one of the activities to be allowed. Again we would strongly object if fishing amenity was to be affected. Interestingly, appendix D on page 70 shows an icon of a fisher adjacent to this area but the icon key does not have this icon in its list.

Recfishwest would appreciate information being provided on these concerns.
