1. Jesus will come again!

"For the Son of Man [Jesus] is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done." (Mt 16:27); "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory." (Mt 25:31); "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (Jn 14:2-3); "Jesus answered, `If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.'" 1. The Day of the LORD

"Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. ... See, the day of the LORD is coming - a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger - to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it." (Isa 13:6, 9); "The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. ... Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger." (Isa 13:10, 13); "All the stars of the heavens will be dissolved and the sky rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree. ... For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion's cause." "The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day." (Isa 2:11); "The arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day," (Isa 2:17); "In that day men will throw away to the rodents and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship. They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from dread of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth." (Isa 2:20-21); "In that day the LORD will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below. They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days. The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed; for the LORD Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously. " (Isa 24:21-23); "In that day, " declares the Sovereign LORD, "the songs in the temple will turn to wailing. Many, many bodies-flung everywhere! Silence!" I will uproot from among you your Asherah poles and demolish your cities. I will take vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations that have not obeyed me.'" The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, as the result of their deeds." 3. Day of wrath, anger

"total darkness lies in wait for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent. A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath. Such is the fate God allots the wicked, the heritage appointed for them by God." (Job 20:27-29); "The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth." (Ps 110:5-6); "Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death." (Pr 11:4); "See, the day of the LORD is coming-a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger-to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it." In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth." (Zep 1:18); "Gather together, gather together, O shameful nation, before the appointed time arrives and that day sweeps on like chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the day of the LORD's wrath comes upon you." 4. Coming of the LORD

"Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth." (1Ch 16:33); "they will sing before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his truth." (Ps 96:13); "let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity." (Ps 98:9); "See, the LORD is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed upon her; she will conceal her slain no longer." (Isa 26:21); "the LORD Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire." (Isa 29:6); "The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.'" (Isa 62:11) = Rev 22:12); "Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you! For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you." (Isa 64:1-3); "See, the LORD is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For with fire and with his sword the LORD will execute judgment upon all men, and many will be those slain by the LORD." (Isa 66:15-16); "Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth. The mountains melt beneath him and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope." (Mic 1:3-4); "Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." (Hos 6:3); "You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him." (Zec 14:5); "But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap." (Mal 3:2).
5. The Son of Man

"In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed." (Dn 7:13-14); "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory." (Mt 24:30) = "At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory." (Mk 13:26) = "At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." (Lk 21:27); "... Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." (Mt 26:64) = "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." (Mk 14:62); "I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man." (Jn 5:25-27); "I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one `like a son of man' with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, `Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.' So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested." (Rev 14:14-16).
6. Kingdom of God

"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever." (Dn 2:44); "Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.' (Dn 7:27); "For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." (Mt 16:27-28) = "And he said to them, `I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.'" (Mk 9:1). 1. Appearing (Gk. epiphaneia, phaneroo)

"When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." (Col 3:4); "And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor [Gk. epiphaneia] of his coming." (2Th 2:8); "to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time ..." (1Tim 6:14-15); "In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:" (2Tim 4:1); "...the crown of righteousness, which the Lord ... will award to ... all who have longed for his appearing." 2. Coming or presence (Gk. parousia)

"But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him." (1Cor 15:23); "For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?" (1Th 2:19); "May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones." (1Th 3:13); "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep" (1Th 4:15); "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. ... " (Lk 17:30); "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, " (Rom 1:18); "But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed." (Rom 2:5); "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work." This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels." 1. Day of the Lord

"I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord." (Ac 2:19-20) = Joel 2:30-31); "hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord." (1Cor 5:5); "... we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus." (2Cor 1:14); "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night" (1Th 5:2); "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come." (2Th 2:1-2); "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." (2Pet 3:10).
2. Day of God

"as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming." (2Pet 3:12); "They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty." (Rev 16:14).
3. Day of Christ

"He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1Cor 1:8); "... he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the Day of Christ Jesus" (Php 1:6); "that you may be ... pure and blameless until the Day of Christ" (Php 1:10); "that I may boast on the Day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing." (Php 2:16).
4. Day of God's wrath

"But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed." (Rom 2:5); "Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, `Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?'" (Rev 6:15-17) = "... Then they will say to the mountains, `Cover us!' and to the hills, `Fall on us!'" (Hos 10:8b) = "Then 'they will say to the mountains, `Fall on us!' and to the hills, `Cover us!'" (Lk 23:30).
5. Day of judgment

"If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town." That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 5. Restoration, renewal, of all things

"Jesus replied, "To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things." (Mt 17:11); "Jesus said to them, `I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne. ...'" (Mt 19:28); "So when they met together, they asked him, `Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He said to them: `It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.'" (Ac 1:6-7); "He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets." (Ac 3:21).
6. New creation, new heavens & earth

"The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. " (Rom 8:19); "that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God." The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous" (Mt 13:49); "`I tell you the truth,' Jesus replied, `no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.'" 8. New Jerusalem

9. Perfection

"but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears." 1. Raising of Christians

"But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him." (1Cor 15:23); "in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." (1Cor 15:52); "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (1Th 4:17).

1. Christians who have died first

"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. ... But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him." (1Cor 15:20-23); "We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him." (1Th 4:14); "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep" (1Th 4:15); "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." 3. Jesus returns to Earth

4. Jesus destroys all opposition to His rule

"Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power." (1Cor 15:24); "For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet." (1Cor 15:25); "The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever." This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels." 5. Death itself is destroyed

"The last enemy to be destroyed is death." (1Cor 15:26); "but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." (2Tim 1:10); "Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil - ." Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death." The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken." (Isa 25:7-8).
6. Jesus reigns unopposed

"`What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?' `The son of David, ' they replied. He said to them, `How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him "Lord"? For he says, `The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet."'" There will be terrible times in the last days. 9. Acceptance by Israel

"When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes." (Mt 10:23); "For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" (Mt 23:39) = "Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" (Lk 13:35); "They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." (Lk 21:22-24); "Repent, then, and turn to God ... that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you-even Jesus" (Ac 3:19-20); "I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: `The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.' (Rom 11:25-26).

Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived." (Rev 13:13-14); "But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur." (Rev 19:20).
13. Persecution

"Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit." (Mk 13:11) = "But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you." (Mt 10:19-20) = "When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say." 14. The Great Tribulation

"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered." (Dn 12:1); "How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 15. Antichrist


1. An individual

4. Will work evil and counterfeit miracles

7. Will cause Christians to be attacked, overpowered and killed

"Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them." (Rev 11:7); "... And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. ... He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation." 8. Will desecrate the Church (or Temple)

"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation, ' [Dn 9:27; 11:31; 12:11] spoken of through the prophet Daniel-let the reader understand- then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains." 9. Will set himself up as a god

10. Is being restrained

"And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time." (2Th 2:6).
11. Will be destroyed at Christ's second coming

"And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming."
