LAND DOWN UNDER
WHO ARE YOU? My name is
Felicity, and I live in Australia. I've been a DS9 fan since it started. The
first episode I ever saw was 'Babel', and I loved it!
WHAT IS Far Beyond The Stars? 'Far Beyond The Stars' (FBTS) is the official fan-club for Nana Visitor. All monies raised by the club are donated to MS research and Amnesty International.

WHY DID YOU START WRITING KIRA FAN-FICTION? I've been a Kira fan since I saw 'Emissary', and started writing stories about Kira and Bajor almost immediately, although those stories have never been read by anyone else but me. However, after I got the hang of writing, I couldn't stop.
WHY KIRA?
WHAT SORT OF STORIES HAVE YOU WRITTEN?
All sorts! I have written a rape story, given her a brother, and had her convicted of treason. But I also believe that the 'Prophets' have more in store for Kira than just as a side-arm for the Emissary.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WON'T DO TO KIRA?
Yes! You will never see a slash story about her by me. If I write bedroom scenes, they are very mild. I don't write graphic scenes, so if you like them, look somewhere else!
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE PARTNER FOR HER?
Not really, although I have become rather fond of Odo recently. But several stories under construction in my computer still involve Bareil or Shakaar, so don't be surprised if they turn up completed eventually.
DO YOU FOLLOW THE OFFICIAL TIME-LINE?
Mostly, but only as far as it suits me. Most of my stories obviously belong in a seperate universe.
HAVE YOU EVER MET NANA VISITOR?
Yes, and she's a wonderfuly lady. With a wicked sense of humor.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER KIRA SITES AROUND?
Not as far as fan-fiction is concerned. For Kira and Bajoran sites, I suggest the Bajoran Consulate, run by Peter Bryce, a NANITE, and therefore a dedicated Kira fan. Peter's site has an extensive collection of links to other ST and DS9 sites. But as far as I know, I am the first and ONLY Kira fan-fiction site around.
HOW LONG WILL YOU KEEP WRITING KIRA STORIES?
As long as I can think of plot lines. So there's a lot of years to go yet.
HAVE YOU EVER SUBMITTED A STORY TO BE MADE INTO AN EPISODE?
(Laugh) No, they won't accept overseas submissions. Which is fine by me, since that means I don't have to stick to their rules.
YOUR INFORMATION IS VERY DETAILED, WHERE DO YOU GET IT?
Mostly from watching episodes and scrawling stuff down. But recently Tracy Hemenover (another writer, mainly of Odo fiction), compiled an encyclopedia of everything about DS9, and I use it whenever I'm really stuck for information, especially about episodes I haven't seen. It's a lot more accurate than anything Paramount has produced as well.
I'VE SEE A FEW MORE WRITERS ON YOUR SITE. ARE THESE PEOPLE THE ONLY KIRA WRITERS AROUND?
No, but not many people seem to write for her exclusively. But occasionaly a new one comes out of the woodwork, and hopefully others will too.
WHAT IF I WANT TO SUGGEST A STORY IDEA TO YOU?
How about you write the story instead, then you can be a writer too!
HOW DO I TELL YOU I DON'T LIKE YOUR STORIES?
You send me an e-mail, which I'll read and reply to. I always try to take the time to reply to people, even if I don't agree with their comments.
